Civil Aviation Ministry closed 24 airports in country amid tensions between India and Pakistan

The Civil Aviation Ministry has said that 24 airports throughout the country had been temporarily closed for civil flight operations as of Thursday evening amid tensions between India and Pakistan. In response to the increasing risk level, numerous Indian airlines have issued travel advisories, urge passengers to plot for that reason and cooperate with the improved safety tests. The Ministry did not specify the duration of the closures or the reasons behind flow.

The closures are part of a broader security protocol, with several of the affected airports placed close to the worldwide border or in strategically big areas. The grounding of civil flights is anticipated to effect connectivity in northern and western India, and guests have been urged to test with airways before heading to the airport.

Civil Aviation Ministry closure to 24 airports

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has suggested all airlines and airports in country to reinforce security features. All passengers will go through a Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC), often called pre-boarding inspections, in any airports.

Vehicles may be carefully tested in any respect airport terminals, IDs may be checked before admittance, and passenger bags may be scrutinised at random. Visitor access to terminal buildings has been prohibited. Air Marshals can be deployed for that reason.

Closure due to high safety for passengers

“In view of the current attack in Pahalgam and next surcharged safety situation, it is important to enhance safety features at all the civil aviation installations like airports, airstrips, airfields, air pressure stations, helipads, flying schools, and aviation training institutes in order that no incident takes area in country. Accordingly, utmost precautions need to be taken by all the stakeholders,” Civil Aviation Ministry said.

Air India said, “Due to an order from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security regarding more safety features at airports, passengers throughout the country are endorsed to permit more time for check-in and boarding. Check-in will close 75 mins before departure.”
