Mahindra has taken the wraps off the Vision X Concept SUV on the Freedom NU event in Mumbai. The Vision X is the latest in Mahindra’s line of futuristic concepts and expected to preview an all-new compact SUV under either the XUV or XEV brand.
Sporty and futuristic layout introduce by Mahindra
Unlike Mahindra’s traditionally boxy and muscular designs, the Vision X adopts a sleeker, more crossover-like stance at the same time and retains rugged SUV proportions. It features a sculpted bonnet, sharply raked windshield, coupe-like rear display screen, and a cut up roof spoiler, lending it a sporty enchantment.
At the front, the SUV gets a cut up LED headlamp setup with DRLs on top and vertically stacked projector devices under. Mahindra used its internal combustion engine (ICE) logo, hinting at a ICE debut, even though EV and hybrid options continue to open. Slim LED hind lights with a related light bar, heavy black cladding, squared wheel arches, and dual-tone aero wheels similarly upload to its bold person.
Vision X Platform and powertrains
The Vision X sits on Mahindra’s modular NU_IQ monocoque platform, which helps ICE, hybrid, and EV powertrains. Designed to handle SUVs among 3,990mm and 4,320mm, the platform has a 2,665mm wheelbase, longer than most opponents in the compact SUV section. It makes the Vision X a robust candidate for the sub-4-metre SUV market, wherein Mahindra already leads with the XUV 3XO.
The Vision X is one among four new principles, alongside the Vision T, Vision S, and Vision SXT, that Mahindra showcased at the Freedom NU event. The manufacturing model of the Vision X is expected for launch in 2027 and company carry forward most of the bold layout factors showcased in the idea.
