Banks Holidays from April 29 to May 1: Check if it closed in your state

Banks in India will continue to be closed for 3 consecutive days, starts from April 29 to May 1. This will be on the occasion of Bhagavan Shri Parshuram Jayanti, Basava Jayanti, Akshaya Tritya, Maharashtra Day, and Labour Day. These Banks Holidays range from state to state. Customers can look for bank holidays in their states at the official website.

Banks Holidays for April 29

According to the RBI website, banks in Shimla will remain closed on April 29 on the occasion of Bhagvan Shri Parshuram Jayanti. Marking the delivery of Lord Parshuram, the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. On this day, people offer prayers to lord Vishnu.

Financial Institutes Remain Closed on April 30 and 1 May

April 30 will mark Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritya, due to which banks will stay closed. Banks, in particular in Bengaluru, are to stay closed, commemorating the start of the famed 12th-century truth seeker and social reformer Basavanna. Basava Jayanti is typically celebrated in Karnataka, where his influence became great. On this occasion people include Basavanna’s teachings including gender equality, social reforms and eradication of social discrimination.

As per Banks Holidays , Banks in most states, which include Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Patna, will closed on occasion of Maharashtra Day. This day is also marked as May Day, also realized as Labour Day. Maharashtra Day marks the day while Gujarat and Maharashtra had been carved out of the Bombay state after protests through Marathi-speaking people. International Labour Day is well known the world over to ensure labor rights and protect them from exploitation.
