Make in India EVs: PM Modi Reveals Exports of Electric Vehicles to 100 Countries

On Tuesday, PM Modi announced a significant development in India’s clean mobility efforts from Hansalpur, Gujarat. He said that Electric Vehicles Make in India will now exported to 100 countries, and the manufacturing of hybrid battery electrodes has started.

He described this as a “new chapter in Bharat’s Make in India journey.” The Prime Minister presented India as a center for EVs, semiconductors, and future industries. He connected this initiative to the India-Japan friendship and his vision for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

On Monday, Modi energized Hansalpur with bold efficient initiatives when he launched the country’s latest mobility projects. Linking this moment to the Ganeshotsav celebrations, he said: “Make in India, Make for the World. From today, EVs made exported to 100 countries.”

Modi also announced the beginning of hybrid battery electrode manufacturing, calling it a key step toward Atmanirbhar Bharat. He emphasized India’s strengths and said “Our country has the power of democracy, the advantage of demography, and a large pool of skilled workforce, making it a win-win situation for every partner.”

PM also highlighted that this day also dedicated to India-Japan friendship. He recalled his 2012 decision, as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, to allocate land in Hansalpur to Maruti Suzuki. Further, he also noted that this vision has now evolved into India’s growing EV story.

Exports of Electric Vehicles to 100 Countries

The Prime Minister paid homage to Maruti’s founder, Osamu Suzuki. He pointed out that the late industrialist’s dream now reflects in India’s global exports. Modi mentioned that Suzuki cars produced in country now exported to Japan. This, he said, demonstrates the credibility of Make in India and India’s increasing trust in the global supply chain.

“The world will drive EVs that say Made in India!” he declared. Discussing the EV ecosystem, Modi noted that India previously imported all its batteries. However, domestic production has now started with Japanese partners through TDSG. He said this would enhance hybrid EV growth and strengthen India’s self-reliance.
