Four people, including three minors, have been arrested for raping and assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Mohali. The accused record her, and threatening her to remain silent for several days, Mullanpur police said. The main suspect is a classmate of the victim; the other three were acquaintances.
Three classmates gang raped girl in Mohali
The police said that the group took the girl to private locations, where the main suspect and his friends reportedly raped her and intimidated her to stop her from reporting the abuse. Investigators noted that the girl suffered in silence and did not tell her parents, fearing retaliation since the accused had made an inappropriate video of her.
The situation only came to light when one of the boys, in a moment of anger, shared the girl’s video in a WhatsApp group. Upset by this act and worried about further humiliation, the girl eventually told her parents, who then filed a police report.
Police arrest all accused
SHO AmandeepTarikha explained that the police arrested all four within hours of receiving the complaint. He confirmed that three of the suspects are minors and the fourth is 20 years old. “We arrested the suspects quickly based on the girl’s statement. She is now under observation and getting the support she needs,” he said.
DSP Harsimrat Singh mentioned that the suspects and the girl were familiar with each other, which allowed the boys to take advantage of her trust. “Once we received the complaint, our teams acted immediately and arrested the suspects,” the DSP said.
