A man named Ashok Kharat, who calls himself ‘Captain’ and works as a numerologist and astrologer, has been arrested for raping a woman in Nashik, Maharashtra. Kharat, known for predicting the futures of many well-known political leaders, has stirred up attention in local communities.
Astrologer Captain Kharat Arrested in Nashik Rape Case
The Nashik Crime Branch arrested Kharat, also known as ‘Captain,’ after a 35-year-old woman accused him of rape. The police registered a case against him at the Sarkarwada Police Station, leading to his immediate arrest.
Recovered 58 Videos of women record secretly
During the investigation, police seized a shocking 58 videos of women that Kharat had made and stored secretly. Senior police officials reported that these videos feature several prominent women from society. They are currently examining the seized videos, and further disturbing details are expected to come to light.
Earlier, the anti-superstition group Anddha Shraddha Nirmolan Samiti (ANISA) had asked the police to take action in this case. Krishna Changude from ANISA told, “Many people had come to us about this fake godman. He has taken advantage of many women for a long time, but they were afraid to report him.”
Members of ANISA said they had made numerous efforts to expose Kharat, whom they consider a fraud, by bringing attention to his wrongdoings with several politicians. They said, “When the CM visited him, we protested. Now that his true nature is becoming clear to the public, we hope people will stop believing in such con artists.”
