In Rampurbaghelan, Satna district, a BJP Councillor faces accusations of raping a woman at knifepoint and recording an video. The victim claims the leader pressured her to engage in sexual acts again, threatening to share the video if she refused.
When she reported the incident, the accused began to threaten her. A video showing the accused making threats has emerged.
On Friday, a video circulated on social media where the accused appears to insult a police officer. During this video, the victim can be heard crying and expressing her desire to file a complaint.
Victim Complained against BJP Councillor
The victim filed her complaint on December 22. The police have been investigating the case for the past five days, and it gained attention after a video of the victim went viral.
In her written complaint to Superintendent of Police Hansraj Singh, the victim explained that the accused, Ashok Singh, who lives in Karhi (Hanumanganj), entered her home six months ago.
He raped her at knifepoint and recorded a video of the assault. He also threatened to kill her and her family if she spoke out, which is why she stayed quiet.
Pressured Again with Threats of Viral Video
The victim reported that on December 20, the accused contacted her again and assaulted her. Given the seriousness of the situation, the Superintendent of Police assigned the investigation to DSP (Headquarters) Manoj Trivedi on the same day.
Ashok Singh, the accused, is also a BJP Councillor in the Nagar Panchayat. The victim alleges in her complaint that he has a history of criminal behavior and was previously expelled from the district.
