Tandon claimed that Verma first approached him in 2021 and developed a personal relationship with him. During this time, she repeatedly asked for money and expensive items. When he refused to continue meeting her financial demands, she allegedly threatened to frame him in false criminal cases.
Accusations Include Cash, Jewellery, and Vehicle Transfers
In his detailed statement, Tandon said he had given Verma over ₹2 crore in cash, as well as high-value gifts. This included a ₹12 lakh diamond ring, gold ornaments worth ₹5 lakh, and a ₹1 lakh bracelet. He also claimed that Verma took his Innova Crysta car and pressured him to transfer ownership of a hotel on VIP Road in Raipur to her brother’s name.
According to Tandon, after this transaction, the officer spent around ₹30 lakh to officially register the property in her name. He said her demands did not stop even after that. Tandon provided the Raipur police with WhatsApp chats, CCTV footage, and other digital evidence, claiming that Verma used her official position to intimidate him. He said that after he refused to withdraw his complaint, the DSP threatened to jail him on fabricated charges.
The police have acknowledged the case, and senior officials have ordered a preliminary inquiry into the allegations. A special team is expected to verify the electronic evidence provided by the complainant.
