A woman who travelled from Doha was arrested at Mumbai airport for smuggling Cocaine worth ₹62.6 crore. The women was caught by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) when she was leaving Mumbai airport on Tuesday.
Officials said they had acquired an intelligence tip that a women Indian national, coming from Doha to Mumbai on July 14, to smuggling cocaineinto country. DRI Mumbai officials, performing at the inputs, intercepted the passenger on the Mumbai Airport on July 14.
62 Crore Cocaine founded at Mumbai airport
Officials found 6 large bins of Oreo biscuits and 3 chocolates. On beginning these, all 9 boxes contained pills full of a white powdery substance which officials believed is cocaine. A general of 300 such pills recovered, DRI said in its statements.
The overall amount of cocaine located in the women’s bag was 6261 grams, with has a cost of ₹62.6 crore in the illegal market. The women has been arrested now and further investigation will starts.
DRI Mumbai Caught Smuggling Attempts
Earlier on June 22, DRI Mumbai arrested a male passenger who had arrived at Mumbai Airport from Sierra Leone after 1,139 grams of cocaine, worth ₹11.39 crore.
After investigation, the passenger admitted to having ingested tablets consists narcotic tablets for smuggling into India. He was admitted to a nearby clinic. On June 20, DRI caught Nigerian girl suspected of transporting narcotic substances from Delhi to Mumbai through bus.
