In a significant crackdown ahead of New Year celebrations, the Delhi Police conducted Operation Aaghat 3.0 and arrested 285 people for violations of the Excise Act, NDPS Act, and Gambling Act.
Delhi Police arrest 200+ and seize Weapons and Drugs
As part of their preventive actions, police detained over 500 individuals and arrested 116 people identified as having a “bad character.” The operation resulted in the seizure of knives, pistols, cartridges, and cannabis. Police is on Operation Aaghat 3.0
Delhi Police said that 1,306 people also rounded up under preventive measures. DCP South East Hemant Tiwari said the operation is a important step in maintaining law and order. Tiwari added that the 285 arrested individuals charged under the Excise Act, NDPS Act, and Gambling Act.
He further mentioned, “10 property offenders and five auto thieves arrested during the operation. We recovered 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges, and 27 knives. A total of 12,258 quarters of illicit liquor and 6.01 kg of ganja were seized. We also found ₹2,30,990 from gamblers, along with 310 mobile phones. We seized or recovered 231 two-wheelers and one four-wheeler.”
