A 28-year-old woman was gang-raped in a moving van in Faridabad for over two hours and then thrown onto the road early on Tuesday.
The incident happened on the night between Monday and Tuesday, when the married woman was waiting for a vehicle to go home. A van stopped, and two young men tricked her into getting in, claiming they would take her home. Instead, the van drove toward Gurgaon Road.
Women gang raped in Faridabad
The woman was in the van for about two-and-a-half hours, during which the men continued to assault her. Despite her protests, they did not stop and threatened her instead.
Around 3 a.m., the woman was thrown out of the moving van near Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar. She suffered severe facial injuries and was bleeding heavily.
The woman called her sister repeatedly. Her sister learned about the incident when she returned the call. Family members hurried to the scene and took the woman to the hospital in critical condition. Doctors treated her with 10 to 12 stitches on her face.
Rape suspects arrested by police
Though her condition is stable, the woman remains in shock. Her statement has not yet been recorded.
The victim’s sister said in her complaint that the woman had called her the day before the incident, around 8:30 p.m. She explained that she had argued with her mother and was going to a friend’s house, adding that she would return home in three hours.
The woman is married, has three children, and lives apart from her husband due to a domestic violence. Both suspects have been arrested by Faridabad police, and the van they used has been recovered.
