Days after strangling his 24-year-old girlfriend and damaged her body in his rented house in Indore, the accused, Piyush Dhamnotia, showed no regret when asked why he did it. Instead, a smile crossed his face as he told, “Forget everything. What had to happen has happened. What will you do by knowing?”
When pressed for more details, he offered a few cold stares before stating that he would share everything when the time was right, as police took him away in a vehicle from outside a local police station in Indore. Throughout, Piyush appeared completely unrepentant.

The crime became known on February 13, when the victim’s decomposed, naked body was discovered in a rented room in Indore’s Dwarkapuri area. The police arrested the accused a day later.
Authorities made the discovery after neighbors reported a foul smell, prompting police action. When officers broke down the door, they found the woman with visible rope marks around her neck.
Women disagree to marriage, led murder
The couple knew each other from their time as students and often disagreed, mainly due to the woman’s desire to marry. Police found that arguments about marriage occurs between them.
On February 10, the accused allegedly took the woman to his rented place to sort out their issues. Police said they had physical relations, but another argument about marriage broke out. This dispute turned violent, leading to the woman’s death.
Authorities learned that the accused felt insecure whenever his girlfriend interacted with other men. During the investigation by Indore Police, he revealed that he had tied her hands and feet and covered her mouth with tape so she could not scream. He then strangled her with a rope.
