A case of unnatural death of a woman come out from Kolkata Beleghata city, after her body found at her house on Thursday afternoon. The deceased identified as Sweta Prasad Shaw, a resident of the Narkeldanga police station area.
According to Kolkata Police, records obtained from NRS Medical College around 2 PM show that Sweta has sent to emergency unit by her own family. She declared dead on arrival by the medical doctors. Police right now released an inquiry and reached the spot, wherein they questioned Sweta’s husband, Rohit Kumar Shaw and mother-in-law Rita Devi Shaw.
In laws claims Kolkata women upset with tour cancellation
Rohit Kumar Shaw instructed the police that an issue had arisen between him and his wife over the cancellation of a planned ride to Meghalaya because of financial issues. He claimed that following the altercation, Sweta locked herself in a room on the first floor. When she did not reply, he broke open the door and located her, placed from a fan with a dupatta around her neck. The family then took her to the hospital.
Family alleged in laws behind murder
However, Sweta’s family has alleged foul play, claiming that she brutally tortured by her in-laws for not giving birth to a son. They accused her husband and in-laws of murdering her in a planned way in Kolkata.
“She was brutally beaten up for a long time through her in-laws because she not have a son. The torture were happening for a long time,” said her own family. The family said that while Sweta’s father reached the illegal house on Thursday, he found her unconscious in bed and not placed, as claimed.
Police sources said Sweta married to Rohit since April 30, 2015. The couple had two daughters – Aradhya and Anvi. Over the years, the couple reportedly had frequent arguments over diverse marital issues, a fact shown by neighbours and relatives.
