A man is accused of killing his wife and two daughters because they did not wear a burqa. He buried their bodies in a pit inside their home in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh.
The case came to light a week after Farooq’s wife, Tahira (35), and their two daughters, Shareen (14) and Afreen (6), went missing. On Tuesday, the village headman reported their disappearance to the police, who then started an investigation. The police arrested Farooq based on their suspicions.
Uttar Pradesh Man Kills wife and daughter
During questioning, Farooq admitted to the crime and told the police he buried the bodies at home. A large police team, including Superintendent of Police NP Singh, quickly arrived at the scene and recovered the three bodies from the pit.
Investigations revealed that an argument had sparked when Farooq’s wife asked him for money. In anger, she left for her parents’ house without wearing a burqa. This made Farooq feel his “honour had been compromised,” as per the police. A month later, he brought his wife back home and killed her and their daughters. He then dug a pit in their home and buried the bodies.
