A key accused connected to the Patna businessman’s murder, Gopal Khemka shot dead in encounter by police. The incident happened in the Mal Salami region of Patna City while police teams attempted to arrest the suspect.
According to police, Raja had allegedly provided the weapon used to kill Khemka and was related to shooter Umesh, the prime suspect in the case. Police said Raja opened firing when a team reached the location to nab him, prompting retaliatory firing in which he killed. Police recovered a pistol, live cartridges, and spent shells from the come upon site. Raja’s body sent for post-mortem.

“Wanted Vikas aka Raja killed in a police encounter upon close to Damaiya ghat around 2.45 am. One pistol, one bullet and a cartridge recovered from the site. The body has sent to Nalanda Medical College, Patna, for post-mortem,” Bihar Police said in statement.
The police action came a day after Patna Police detained over a dozen suspects in reference to Khemka’s murder. Notably, one suspect, Roshan Kumar, a resident of Punpun in Patna detained after he spotted attending Khemka’s funeral on July 6. Police consider Khemka’s killing was deliberate and carried out with the assist of different conspirators, along with spotters who tracked the businessman’s moves at the night of July 4.
Case Closed After Accused dead
Khemka, a famous industrialist shot dead out of doors his house in the Gandhi Maidan region at around 11:40 pm, after stepping out of his car. Sources also said that the main accused of Patna businessman’s murder, Umesh, arrested in Patna on Monday. However, official confirmation made on this regard. Meanwhile, Bihar BJP leader Neeraj Kumar alleged that the shooter was employed by a few political person to carry out the killing.
“The police arrested the shooter related in the murder of outstanding businessman Gopal Khemka. The shooter, recognized as Umesh, was hired through a “political figure” to perform the murder. Got it? Understand who poses a risk to Bihar?,” Kumar wrote on X in Hindi, sharing pictures of Gopal Khemka.
