On Thursday evening, police reported that Saksham was with friends in the old Ganj area when a fight broke out between him and Aanchal’s brother, Himesh Mamidwar. Himesh allegedly shot Saksham, with the bullet hitting his ribs, and then struck him on the head with a tile, killing him instantly. Himesh, his brother Sahil (25), and their father Gajanan Mamidwar (45) were arrested shortly after the incident.
Nanded’s superintendent of police, Abinash Kumar, said, “We arrested two others, including the girl’s mother, later.” He noted that everyone involved in this incident had prior criminal records.
Kumar explained, “Saksham, who was killed, had 8 to 10 cases against him and had just been released. Himesh and his father also had several cases against them and were banned from the area. They should not have been there.” He added that Saksham and Himesh, who were best friends, were sometimes accused in the same cases.
