The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another suspect in connection with the car bomb blast near the Red Fort on November 10. This attack resulted in 14 deaths and about 30 injuries.
NIA arrest another Bomb Blast accused
The suspect, Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, taken into custody in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. He lives in Qazigund, Anantnag. Before the explosion, he allegedly provided technical support for terror attacks by modifying drones and trying to make rockets.
Wani was a co-conspirator and worked closely with the alleged terrorist, Umar Un Nabi, to plan the car bomb attack, according to the agency on Monday.
Accused Amir Rashid Ali are also arrested
Previously, the NIA arrested Amir Rashid Ali, the person in whose name the car used in the Bomb Blast was registered. He is from Samboora in Pampore, J&K, and allegedly conspired with Nabi, who was a doctor. On Monday, the agency presented Ali in a Delhi court, which ordered him to held in NIA custody for 10 days.
Another vehicle belonging to Nabi has seized. So far, the NIA has interviewed 73 witnesses, including blast survivors, to gather information. The agency is working closely with police from Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, along with other agencies.
The J & K police’s Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has questioned a local doctor who rented a place to a female doctor from Haryana. The state police has also started checking the backgrounds of car dealers and sellers of fertilizers and chemicals. Earlier, they seized about 2,900 kg of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, during raids in Faridabad, Haryana.
