The principal of St. Francis School in Khuntakheda village, Rampur district arrested after multiple students accused him of molestation under the pretense of punishment. The accused, Joseph also attacked by upset parents who entered the school after news of the incident spread. An FIR has filed, and Joseph is in police custody.
Police arrest Rampur School principal for Molesting Students
The case emerged when parents noticed their children were hesitant to go to school. When asked, several students revealed that Principal Joseph would call them to his office for any mistakes and touch their private parts, claiming this was a form of punishment.
On Monday morning, many parents gathered at the school after hearing reports from the children. A confrontation broke out, during which the mob attacked the principal before the police arrived to manage the situation. Officers from the Bhot police station came, broke up the crowd, and reassured parents that a thorough investigation conducted.
Police checking DVR data
Block Chief Sardar Kulwant Aulakh and former village head Jogendra Singh visited the school following the incident and take the strict action against the accused.
According to a report, Station House Officer Arjun Singh Tyagi confirmed that an FIR filed based on a formal complaint from the parents. The police reviewed the school’s CCTV footage and seized the DVR data for analysis. “All evidence collected,” SHO Tyagi said.
