A 27-year-old property dealer, Preet Nagra shot dead outside a gym in the upscale Sector 9 market in Chandigarh on Wednesday afternoon. Nagra, who lived in Mullanpur in the nearby Mohali district targeted by two unidentified gunmen while sitting in his SUV after a workout.

The shocking daylight murder alarmed the city, as the crime scene is in a well-known area that houses the Chandigarh Police Headquarters and the UT Secretariat.
The incident happened around 1 PM outside a gym on Madhya Marg. According to police, Nagra arrived at the fitness center around noon. As he got into his black Toyota Fortuner to leave, two young men on a Honda Activa scooter blocked his vehicle and opened fire.
Attackers fire 11 shots, kill dealer
The attackers fired 11 shots, shattering the driver’s side window. Nagra, who was driving, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He quickly taken to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16 Chandigarh. He announced died from his injuries while receiving treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police KanwardeepKaur and other high-ranking officials arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation. A team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) sent to gather ballistic evidence and shell casings from the parking lot.
“The attack seems to a planned execution,” a police official said. A murder case filed at the Sector 11 police station.
