Pune bus rape Case: Accused Dattatraya Ramdas Gade out on bail for another case

Dattatraya Ramdas Gade has been out on bail since 2019. He is the rapist of 26-year-old woman in a stationary state transport bus at the busy Swargate bus station in Pune. The Pune bus rape Case triggered protest by opposition Shiv Sena (UBT), during the security office on the premises was vandalized. The Baramati Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader lashed out at Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayuti government, deputy CM Ajit Pawar said that he has directed the Pune police to start investigation case and arrest accused.

Dattatraya Ramdas Gade behind Pune bus rape Case

Dattatraya Ramdas Gade, has the 6 cases of robbery, theft and chain snatching registered against him in Pune. He adjoins the Ahilyanagar district. He was out on bail since 2019 in offences, as per officials.

In 2024, the theft case was filed in pune against Gade who summoned to the police station. A Pune Police team questioned his brother. Police check CCTV camera footage of the Swargate bus station and nearby areas. They also seek for technical assistance for clues to find out accused, police said.

When the Crime happened at Swargate bus station?

The women said in her police complaint, that she was waiting for bus for Phaltan in adjoining Satara district, at platforms around 5.45am. A man engaged her in conversation, and calls her “ didi”. He said that bus for Satara has arrived at another platform. But the man took her to empty ‘Shiv Shahi’ AC bus  parked on sprawling station premises.

The woman told the police that as the lights on the bus were not on, she hesitated to get in at first. But the man approached her that it was the right bus. Then he followed her inside and raped her. He also threatened the woman and asked her not to reveal about Pune bus rape Case to anyone, as per reports.
