A 30-year-old man was arrested for the brutal murder of his office colleague and HR manager. He dumped her body on a bridge over the Yamuna River in Agra. Police tracked him down after the woman’s headless, naked body was found inside a gunny bag on January 24.
Agra man killed his colleague cum lover
The victim, Minky Sharma, 32, lived in Tedhi Baghia in Agra. Her family reported her missing after she didn’t come home from work in Sanjay Place on January 23.
In the early hours of January 24, locals reported a suspicious gunny bag left on the Jawahar Bridge. When police inspected it, they discovered the body with its legs severed. Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Sayed Ali Abbas quickly formed five special teams to investigate. CCTV footage from the area showed a man dragging the gunny bag from an office building and later riding a scooter toward the bridge.
Additional footage from the surrounding area helped police identify the suspect, Vinay Singh, a computer operator who worked in the same office as Sharma.
Suspects third person in relationship become reason of murder
Singh eventually confessed to the murder during interrogation by Agra Police. He said that they had been in a relationship for over two years but became suspicious after learning that Sharma had been in contact with another man for about six months.
They both argued as a result of the suspicion. After summoning Sharma to their office on January 23, Singh attacked her with a knife, fatally injuring her neck. After that, he dismembered the body and placed it inside the gunny bag. She put her head in a different backpack.
Singh then moved the body to the bridge using Sharma’s scooter with the intention of tossing it over the Yamuna.
