In a major setback for famous Kannada actors Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda, the SC Cancels Darshan’s Bail in the murder case of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan who abducted, assaulted, and killed allegedly by the actor. A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan, this morning, set apart and, before ruling in the case by the Karnataka High Court, ordered that they taken into custody. Ms Gowda taken into custody in the afternoon, while Darshan expected to surrender after the court directive.
SC Cancels Darshan’s Bail to delivers Justice
The top court also criticised the high court for tasking a pre-trial test that is the prerogative of trial courts, and said that it suffers from “legal infirmities”.
“We considered the grant of bail as well as cancellation, and it’s obvious that the high court order shows a mechanical exercising of power. The grant of bail will effect the trial, and the witnesses will prompted,” said Justice Mahadevan.
Praising the choice for penning the order, Justice Pardiwala remarked during the listening, “Justice Mahadevan has said a very erudite judgment. It is ineffable. It conveys a message that, but large the accused isn’t always above the law.”

Justice Mahadevan also reiterated that the high court’s bail decision was and SC Cancels Darshan’s Bail. Earlier, the court had said one of these mistakes in deciding the bail by a high court judge was “unacceptable”.
A warning towards VIP treatment given to Darshan in custody also followed. The actor earlier receiving special treatment at a Bengaluru Jail. A picture showed him enjoyable on a chair with a cup of espresso, and having a cigarette.
“The day we come to know that the accused people are getting 5 star treatment, the first step is to place superintendent into suspension with all supporting officers,” said Justice Pardiwala.
