The mystery behind the disappearance of a child from Agartala’s Indiranagar place solved on Wednesday, together with his body found in trolley bag hidden in a ice cream freezer. The location of the Gandacherra market of Dhalai district, around 120 km from the Tripura capital, has sent shockwaves throughout Tripura, coming at the heels of the ‘honeymoon homicide” in neighboring Meghalaya.
The man, 24-year-old Sariful Islam, is an electrician. The homicide was the fallout of a complex love triangle related to Sariful Islam, a female, and the prime accused, Dibakar Saha, 28, a medical doctor, said a senior police officer.
Love affairs turn into Murder in Tripura
“Initial investigations factor to a love affair between the victim and the women, who is also a cousin of Dibakar Saha. The love triangle is reason behind homicide,” said Kiran Kumar K, a senior police officer of West Tripura.
Six people, including the health doctor and his parents arrested. Among the other three is a woman. The police said Dibakar Saha had referred to as Sariful to the house of one Joydeep Das, 20, in South Indranagar Kabarkhala area, on the night of June 8, under the pretext of giving him a gift
Body Packed in trolley bags
When Sariful arrived in Tripura, he ambushed by Dibakar and his partner – Animesh Yadav, 21, and Nabanita Das, 25. His body packed into a trolley bag buy two days earlier, the police said.
The next morning, Dibakar’s parents, Dipak and Debika Saha arrived in Agartala from Gandacherra and took away the trolley bag containing the body. The corpse was eventually hidden internal an ice-cream freezer at their save in Gandacherra market.
