In a tragic incident, a young woman took her life after her former fiancée injected her with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV+) in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district in Telangana. This incident occurred on March 11 in Annojiguda, which is under the Pocharam IT corridor police station.
The man, identified as Manohar, reportedly attacked the woman after her parents called off the wedding when they learned that he and some family members were HIV positive.

Manohar allegedly went to her house and pressured her to accept the marriage. When she refused, he used a syringe to draw his own HIV+ blood and injected it into her before fleeing the scene, according to police officials. After the assault, she cause a high fever and taken to a private hospital, where she told her family about the attack.

Following a complaint filed by the victim’s father, the police registered a case, arrested Manohar, and placed him in judicial custody. In distress, the woman hanged herself at her home on Thursday night.
Her body moved to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem test. The police have intensified their investigation to verify whether the blood actually infected with HIV or if the accused used it to intimidate her.
