CM Stalin will launch the first phase of the Tamil Nadu government’s laptop distribution program, titled ‘The World Is in Your Hands’, on Monday. During this phase, 10 lakh laptops given to college students across the state. This marks a significant step toward digital empowerment in higher education.
CM Stalin launch TN Laptop Scheme
According to an official statement from the Tamil Nadu government, this initiative is part of the DMK government’s wider focus on student welfare and inclusive growth. Since taking office, Stalin’s administration has rolled out various education-related schemes, such as the Tamil Pudhalvan scheme, the Innovative Women scheme, the First-Generation Graduate scheme, Post-Matric Scholarship programs, and Social Justice Hostels. These efforts aim to broaden educational access and lessen socio-economic barriers.
Distribute 20 lakh laptops to students
As part of these initiatives, the CM Stalin announced the distribution of 20 lakh laptops to college students in two phases. The goal is to equip them with the digital skills necessary in today’s technology-driven world.
The inauguration for the first phase will take place at 3 p.m. on Monday at the Chennai Trade Centre. Deputy Chief Minister Stalin will also attend the event.
Under this scheme, laptops distributed to students in government engineering colleges, arts and science colleges, medical, agricultural and law schools, polytechnics, and industrial training institutes. About 10 lakh students from these institutions expected to benefit in the first phase.
