Aspirants preparing for the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2026 can expect the much-awaited admit cards to be released soon. The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT, Guwahati will issue the GATE Admit Card on the official portal. However, a final confirmation date has not been announced yet.
GATE Admit Card will release by Jan 16
Originally set for release on January 2, the admit cards were postponed. This delay has left candidates eagerly awaiting an official update. Once available, registered applicants will be able to download their admit cards.
In the meantime, registered candidates can familiarize themselves with the exam format. IIT Guwahati has released the official mock test link for GATE aspirants. The practice test allows students to experience the actual computer-based test environment. This helps them build confidence and refine their exam strategy before the main exam.
Who conducts GATE 2026?
The examination is conducted on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Here are the exam related details
- MCQs: Negative marking applies for incorrect answers.
- MSQs and NAT questions: No negative marking.
This marking scheme encourages accuracy while allowing candidates flexibility in non-MCQ sections.
