KIIT Student Attempt Suicide in Hostel, Due to Harassment by Ex Boyfriend

KIIT Btech Third Year Student found died in Hostel. The student name was Prakriti Lamsal. She was a third-year student of the Mechanical Engineering Department at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar. She took her own life under mental pressure of harassment from her ex-boyfriend. After investigation on KIIT Student Attempt Suicide matter, audio clip found, that have interactions between both on phone call, and now audio is viral on social media.

In audio, Prakriti’s ex boyfriend, Advik Srivastava accused her again and again and degrade modesty of the girl. She breakdown multiple times in this way and finish her life.

Physical and Mental Torture Behind KIIT Student Attempt Suicide

Friends of deceased girl have make claims, that girl was under physical and mental pressure. She was in a three-year relationship with Advik, but now it affects her personality. Advik Srivastava has an abusive personality and harass the girl.

On Monday,  Bhubaneswar police arrested Advik and put charges of harassment on him. Before it, he post pictures on social media show his flight ticket to Kolkata. The event highlights that he accused his girlfriend that results in suicide.

What Action University Take

After the KIIT Student Attempt Suicide and take her own life, the reports said that she was harass by his boyfriend. The sources mentioned by friends claim that she approach to International Relations Office (IRO) one month ago before take this extreme step. Despite of multiple attempts to get help, she was dealt with abusive voices, and it lead mental pressure on her.

After the students demands, the college authority documented and seized all incriminating materials like laptops, phone and keep it in custody. He also added, “ our team listened to grievances of both the students and the university officials and take further steps following post mortem.”
