Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is facing yet another death threat for the second time in a week. This time, the sender has not only threatened to kill him but also demanded an apology at the temple and Rs 5 crores. The message was sent to the helpline of Mumbai traffic police early Tuesday and has exposed that the sender is no other than Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother who is now lodged behind the bars. Authorities have been alerted, and the Worli police station has begun an investigation into the alleged threat.
As for the chilling message, it mentioned two options – pay Rs 5 crore or apologize at a temple. The sender warned saying that if he failed to meet either of those demands, Khan was doomed. The latest death threat for Salman Khan came when just last month, one man was arrested from Bandra for threatening to kill the actor unless he received Rs 2 crore.
Police file complain after death threat for Salman Khan
We suspect a hoax,” said one Mumbai police officer, “Still, we are not leaving any stone unturned. A police team was dispatched immediately to trace the suspect and know the source of the message.” Speaking to Mail Today, a senior officer informed that a complaint is being filed in the formalities: “We are in the process of filing a formal complaint”.
This is not the first high-profile threat this week, as Sunday saw an unknown person threatening to get Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath killed if he does not resign within 10 days. The threat, it is said, cited the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who allegedly was shot at by the Bishnoi gang in Bandra last month.
The authorities continue scouring the lead while working closely with the various intelligence agencies to assess all possible risks that could face Salman Khan, as well as other targeted persons of the Bishnoi gang. Additional security measures are being evaluated as the investigation unfolds around the actor.
