Ram Charan’s Return in Game Changer to Solo Lead, Box Office Collection Massive
Game Changer is Ram Charan’s first solo film in six years since the 2019 Vinaya Vidheya Rama (VVR), which had minted ₹34 crore on its opening day. Since then, the star’s biggest films have been RRR (2022), an SS Rajamouli film that minted ₹133 crore on its first day, and Acharya, which minted ₹37.10 crore.
Ram Charan also had a cameo in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023, but Game Changer marks his return as a solo lead in a big-budget, socially driven film.
About the Film
Game Changer is an anti-corruption film that goes into the nitty-gritty of Indian electoral politics. The movie stars Ram Charan in a dual role as IAS officer Ram Nandan and activist Appanna. Kiara Advani plays the role of Deepika, who is Ram’s love interest. Anjali plays Parvathy. SJ Suryah plays Mopidevi, a corrupt politician, and Srikanth takes on the role of an aging chief minister, Sathyamurthy.
A story by Karthik Subbaraj, the movie underlines systemic flaws in the political landscape. Reviews have been mixed; some have lauded its intent, while others called it “strictly average.” However, the earnings from the film signal that the audience is very interested in the movie.
