The custom-made dress, intended by Bob Mackie and created by Jean Louis for $1,440.33. It was a steep flesh-colored marquisette material decorated with 2,500 sparkling rhinestones.

Monroe’s show was one of her final main public looks before her death. The dress endured important alterations over time. It ended at a public sale in New York City in 1999 for $1.26 million, comparable to $2.4 million in 2024. Afterward, a Canadian billionaire procured it at a Los Angeles sale in 2016 for $4.8 million.

On the other hand, Kim did not bear the real gown for the majority of the evening. She carried it for merely about five minutes to march the red carpet ahead of changing into an imitation to avoid damaging the historic costume. The costume was modified to fit Monroe’s accurate measurements, but even after Kim lost 16 pounds over three weeks, it still did not vigorous her flawlessly.
