Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation, a non-profit organization known for supporting acid attack victims across India, will work with the Amritsar-based NGO, Voice of Amritsar, on flood relief efforts in the district. The Meer Foundation will help with reconstruction in two villages along the banks of the Ravi River, where Punjab Floods have destroyed homes and belongings.
Seenu Arora, a founding member of VOA, mentioned that they were contacted by the Meer Foundation, which wanted to collaborate on relief efforts in Amritsar. “They are glad to contribute to the project we proposed, which involves distributing household goods like beds, mattresses, gas stoves, fans, and water purifiers to around 500 homes affected by floods.

These villages are mainly near the Ravi River and suffered greatly from the Punjab Floods. We had previously narrowed it down to five villages and will start with the two most affected,” said Seenu Arora.
The VOA has also gained support from Care Foundation, one of the oldest non-profit organizations in Kolkata. VOA members are already on the ground, working with a team of doctors from AIIMS to provide medical relief in Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts.
Seenu Arora stated that the Voice of Amritsar has been doing relief work by offering food, dry rations, medicine, and clothing to those impacted by the floods. “We also created a project report for rehabilitation and will broaden our ground operations based on the supplies of relief materials we receive,” he said.
