Tragedy at Pushpa 2 premier: Allu Arjun to be charged for stampede

Telugu star Allu Arjun is all set to be charged for a stampede that happened at the premiere of his long-awaited film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The stampede that occurred at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre left a 35-year-old woman dead and her nine-year-old son critically injured. Authorities have cited the unplanned arrival of the actor and inadequate crowd management on the part of the theatre as the reasons for the mayhem. The incident has sparked widespread debate over accountability.

The Police Commissioner of Hyderabad, CV Anand, stated that no one, neither the team of the actor nor the management of the theatre, made it known to the authorities about his visit. This, coupled with not keeping a passage for entry and exit for Allu Arjun, further deteriorated the situation. Hundreds thronged the theatre to have a glimpse of the actor, causing an unprecedented crowd surge at the entrance. Allu Arjun is to be charged for Stampede as officials investigate negligence in planning and security.
