The much-awaited Superman teaser trailer is finally here and gives fans their first glimpse of James Gunn’s vision for the iconic superhero. Unveiled Thursday evening, the teaser introduces David Corenswet in the titular role in this fresh chapter for the Man of Steel. What’s inside the trailer?
The trailer gives off a different vibe compared to Zack Snyder’s grittier take on Man of Steel. Bright, lively visuals dominate this sneak peek, as Superman reboots with a fresh hopeful aesthetic. It’s been quite easy for fans to praise the new approach Gunn has brought forth instantly.
It’s very dramatic, showing an injured Superman bleeding and lying alone in the snow. The teaser weaves a good tale of his journey from a boy in Smallville to a young journalist at the Daily Planet. The most striking entrance has to be Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, sharing a brief but meaningful moment with Clark Kent. Adding to the excitement, Superman’s loyal companion, Krypto the super-dog, makes a playful entrance after responding to Clark’s whistle.
Next, the montage continues with a look at Superman’s heroic transformation and his role as the savior of the world. Punctuated through quick flashes of visuals, moments of action and heart signals an emotional core will drive Gunn’s storytelling.
