Welcome actor Mushtaq Khan kidnapping case: What really happened?

The actor, Mushtaq Khan, known for his role in famous movies like Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke and Welcome, was kidnapped on November 20 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. After he was abducted, he had to go through torture for hours. Not only this but he was asked to pay ₹2 lacs before he managed to get himself free. After 20 days, police have registered an FIR and are now investigating the case.

The complaint said the whole incident started with a phone call on November 15 from one Rahul Saini. Saini invited Khan to an event in Meerut, promising to pay his fees. He sent an advance of ₹25,000 and booked Khan’s flight from Mumbai to Delhi. Trusting the arrangement, the actor flew to Delhi on November 20.

How Actor Mushtaq Khan was Kidnapped?

Upon arrival, Khan was picked up in a cab sent by Saini. The car changed drivers and two others were added. Feeling suspicious, Khan objected, after which the kidnappers shoved him into another car. After hours of driving, they reached a house where he was tortured and forced to transfer ₹2 lakh.

The kidnappers took his phone away, asked for more money, and threatened him. They, however, later started drinking and passed out. At this time, Khan managed to break free in the early morning hours. He sought asylum at a nearby mosque from where a cleric helped him contact his family.

The complaint was filed by Khan’s manager on behalf of the actor as his health was too fragile after the traumatic incident. The police have assured tough action against the culprits.

This case comes amid another kidnapping investigation involving comedian Sunil Pal in Meerut. Pal was reportedly abducted while returning from an event in Uttarakhand. He was held for ransom, forced to pay ₹8 lakh, and later released. Police are now probing whether the two cases are connected.
