Strong 4.4 Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday morning. The tremors hit at 9.04 am and lasted for some seconds.
According to the National Center for Seismology, a 4.4 major earthquake hit Haryana’s Jhajjar at 9.04 am. It is part of the National Capital Region, and is placed almost 60 kms from Delhi. Tremors jolted Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad in the NCR. The tremors also felt in Sonipat, Rohtak and Hisar in Haryana.

The quake comes after a rain deluge in the Delhi-NCR on Wednesday, which caused waterlogging and stagnation of visitors. The downpour got here after several days of climate and humidity in the Delhi-NCR.
Delhi Police post on X that no damage occurs across the city due to the quake. “No reviews of any harm were observed from the earthquake that struck Delhi-NCR this morning. We pray for the well-being of all Delhi citizens,” the post read.
NDRF Issue safety guidelines for public during earthquake
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also posted do’s and don’ts on X for the public, along with what to do before a 4.4 Earthquake, during it and after the same.
Delhi falls under Zone IV of India’s seismic map, indicating a history of slight earthquakes. The capital regularly experiences tremors from earthquakes originating in the Himalayas, Afghanistan, and China.
