At least 46 peoples, most of them pilgrims killed in J & K Flash Floods on Machail Mata Yatra route at Chasoti village, said PTI mentioning officers. They added that over 160 people had been rescued up to now.
More than a 100 peoples injured, deputy commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma advised HT. Rescue teams worry the toll rise as several people continue to be missing. Most of the victims had been pilgrims hiking to the Hindu shrine of Machail Mata, BS Tuti, the inspector standard of police, Jammu, said. The catastrophe hit Chasoti (also spelt Chisoti), the final motorable point at the path to the 9,500-feet high Machail Mata temple — between 12 and 1 pm, while loads of devotees had gathered for the annual yatra.

Himachal flash floods: 396 roads closed, homes broken
Cloudbursts and J & K Flash Floods in several districts of Himachal Pradesh brought about big destruction, with 396 roads closed for visitors, houses broken, cars washed away and some panchayats in Shimla cut off.
Since Wednesday night, Kandaghat has acquired 100 mm of rainfall, Jatton Barrage 87 mm, Una 85.4 mm, Solan 81.4 mm, Olinda 76 mm, Shillaroo 73 mm, Shimla 69 mm, Kufri 66 mm, Jubbarhatti 65.2 mm, Kasauli 62 mm, Kothi 61.2, Murrai Devi 51.8 and Dharampur 50.2 mm.
