Delhi-NCR woke up once again under a thick layer of toxic haze, its skyline obscured by a grey veil that refuses to lift. The Air Quality Index rose to 385 on Friday, in the “very poor” range. Rahul Gandhi delivered a strong criticism, warning that India’s children are literally growing up gasping for air.
On X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “Every mother I meet tells me the same thing. Her child is growing up breathing toxic air. They are exhausted, scared, and angry.”
Rahul Gandhi questioned BJP Govt for no strict action on poor air quality
He questioned Modi’s silence and asked why the government shows “no urgency, no plan, no responsibility” even after a public health crisis spread. He called for an immediate and thorough debate in Parliament on air pollution. Further, he also urged the government to establish a strict national action plan, arguing that India’s children deserve clean air.
Gandhi Share deep concerns towards mothers
In a video, Rahul Gandhi speaks with women who share their deep concerns about the bad impact of polluted air. They talk about constant coughs, deteriorating health, sleepless nights, and growing fear. They warn that ignoring the crisis now will lead to long-lasting health and economic harm for the country. Many question why the government has not issued timely health advisories or preventive measures as the smog thickens.
