Chhath Puja Ends with Usha Arghya Offerings Across India and Abroad

The four-day festival of Chhath Puja wrapped up on Tuesday with the rising sun, known as Usha Arghya. Devotees across the country offered heartfelt prayers to Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya, marking the end of one of the most disciplined and uplifting celebrations in the Hindu calendar.

Chhath Puja ends with final rituals of Usha Arghya

The final ritual, called ‘Usha Arghya’, symbolises new beginnings and gratitude. As the first rays of dawn touched the rivers, ponds, and ghats, devotees stand in water, chanting hymns and mantras. They sought blessings from the Sun God for health, happiness, and prosperity.

In the national capital, security arrangements were detailed ahead of the celebrations. At the Hathi Ghat in ITO, the atmosphere felt both serene and lively. Separate camps, medical teams, and CCTV ensured safety and smooth management.

BJP join rituals in Delhi

BJP National spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari joined devotees in Delhi for the closing rituals of Chhath Puja. He expressed happiness over the growing unity the festival encourages. A local devotee from Delhi told IANS, “This time, everything is much better. The facilities are excellent. The government has provided good arrangements, and everything is happening peacefully. We are very happy and satisfied.”

In Patna’s AG Colony, hundreds gathered before sunrise. Their offerings of fruits, sugarcane, and ‘thekua’ (traditional sweets) were neatly arranged in bamboo baskets.
