Chhath Puja 2025, a popular Hindu festival, has begun with great enthusiasm and devotion across India. The love and respect shown in its rituals seem to reach the heavens. This festival has roots in the Vedas. It reflects the earth’s balance and gratitude to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, creating a remarkable cycle of purity and discipline.
Chhath Puja 2025: Four-Day Festival
Chhath Puja lasts for four days. It begins with Nahay Khay, when devotees take a holy bath and enjoy a simple meal afterwards. The second day is Kharna, marked by the preparation of special kheer made from whole wheat flour, jaggery, and rice, which they offer as prasad.
On the third day, called Sandhya Arghya, devotees pray to the setting sun. The final day is Usha Arghya, when they pray to the rising sun and complete their fast, known as “Vrat Paran.”
Ghats, Songs, and Traditions
Across the country, ghats shine with diyas. Traditional songs like “Kaanch Hi Baans Ke Bahangiya” fill the air. Women, dressed in their traditional saris, perform the rituals with deep faith. Authorities have managed crowds, ensured clean ghats, and prioritized safety. Markets buzz with festive excitement as families prepare offerings and their traditional dishes. Chhath Puja 2025 is a beautiful celebration of discipline, devotion, and the human spirit, along with a rewarding connection to nature.
