Recently, the Hyderabad food safety authorities raid at bakery unit in Mailardevpally and seized adulterated food items of 2 lakh. These inspections held at various food manufacturing units that produce bakery products, sweets and packaged snacks.
Substandard Snacks, Bakery Items Seized in Mailardevpally
During the inspections, officials found several violations of food quality and safety regulations. Authorities report that the inspected units either producing or storing adulterated and substandard food items, which led to their immediate seizure.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of food items valued at approximately Rs 2,00,000 from four manufacturing units across different areas of Hyderabad.
Unit-Wise Seizure Details
The officials identified the units from which the seized items retrieved as follows:
- Maruthi Foods, Kattedan, where snacks similar to kurkure worth around Rs 15,000 taken.
- Indian Bakery and Sweets House, from which biscuits and other bakery products valued at roughly Rs15,000 confiscated.
- Krishna Food Products, Laxmiguda, where substandard mixture items worth about Rs 10,000 found.
- BS Food Products, Laxmiguda saw the largest seizure of Rs 1.5 lakh taken during the raid.
Officials noted that the seized items from Mailardevpally were unsafe for consumption and did not meet the required food safety standards.
The Hyderabad Police have registered cases against the owners of all four units under relevant legal provisions, and an investigation is currently in progress.
