A passenger has claimed to have found insects in the food served on a Vande Bharat Express traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. This raises new concerns about catering standards on premium trains.

In a social media post, user Aditya Didwania reported at least two such instances in his coach, which led passengers to stop eating the served meals. He identified the catering vendor as M/s Brandavan Food Products, part of the RK Group.
Didwania tagged various authorities, including the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Railway Minister AshwiniVaishnaw, the Ministry of Railways, and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. He urged them to take immediate action against the vendor.

He also called for an inspection of the food preparation process. He alleged that the standards set by the FSSAI not followed and demanded strict action, including the cancellation of the vendor’s license if violations found.
Meanwhile, IRCTC responded to the complaint on social media. They stated, “Sir, inconvenience is regretted. The matter taken up and apprised to the concerned official for immediate necessary action.” Railway authorities have not yet released any official statement regarding the issue.
