Two people arrested by police for making unsafe ginger-garlic paste in dirty conditions at illegal sites in Hyderabad. The suspects identified as Abdul Aleem, 25, the owner of Standard Food Products Ginger and Garlic Paste, who lives near Mir Alam Tank in Bahadurpura, and Jasani Dildar Ali, 46, a businessman from Abids.
Two accused arrested in Hyderabad for making adulterated ginger-garlic paste
According to the police, action started on February 13 after receiving reliable information that adulterated ginger-garlic paste made at two sites, a house near Baba Kanta in Sasthri Puram and another near the railway tracks in Udangadda.
Officials carried out a raid at these locations with independent witnesses present. They found the suspects preparing the paste in extremely unsanitary conditions without following safety or food standards. Investigators stated that the suspects had obtained low-quality ginger and garlic and mixed them with salt, chemicals, and other powders to artificially thicken the paste before packaging and selling it.
Officers seized unsafe 1,800 kilograms of garlic and paste
During the raid in Hyderabad, officials seized about 1,800 kilograms of garlic and paste, along with two kilograms each of xanthan gum and titanium dioxide, synthetic food coloringlabeled “lemon yellow,” seven packing machines, three grinding machines, and two weighing machines. Mailardevpally police filed a case and started an investigation.
