The competition for the “next big thing” is heating up. Along with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, Apple also working on an AI device and offer many practical features in a compact form. A recent report has uncovered several hardware details about this rumored product.
Apple develops AirTag Pin
While JonyIve, Apple’s former design chief, develops an AI gadget for OpenAI, Apple is said to creating a similar device. According to a report, this gadget is available as early as 2027. The device expected to have a thin, flat, round shape, resembling an Apple AirTag (currently priced at $26 on Amazon). It might be similar in size, though a bit thicker.
On the front of this rumored “Apple Pin,” there will be a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle camera for capturing photos and videos of the user’s environment. Additionally, Apple said to have included three microphones and a speaker that allow users to interact with an AI assistant. Furthermore, the gadget might feature just one physical button. The magnetic back designed for wireless charging, similar to the Apple Watch.
AirTag Pin connects to new version of Siri
However, it is still unclear what specific features this gadget will offer. It’s possible that the device connected to the new version of Siri, expected to launch later this year with iOS 27 and macOS 27. Unlike the initial AI-powered version of Siri, which will be part of iOS 26.4, the iOS 27 version is reportedly based on Google’s Gemini AI chatbot and will be much more powerful. As always, these early rumors taken with caution, as Apple plans may change.
