The first edition of the Khelo India Tribal Games has starts today in Chhattisgarh. The competition will run until April 3, featuring events in seven sports.
It will be officially opened in Raipur today. Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, will inaugurate the event. Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai will also be present.
More than 3800+ Participants of Khelo India Tribal Games
This event aims to give youth from tribal areas across the country a national-level platform. It will help them gain recognition and opportunities for their sports talent. More than 3,000 tribal athletes and officials from nearly thirty states and Union Territories will participate in the Games.
Raipur, Jagdalpur, and Ambikapur host games in Chhattisgarh
The Khelo India Tribal Games take place in three cities in Chhattisgarh: Raipur, Jagdalpur, and Ambikapur. Raipur will host competitions in football, hockey, archery, swimming, weightlifting, and kabaddi. Jagdalpur will have athletics events, while Ambikapur will host wrestling and malla khamb competitions.
