The Odisha authorities has announced that all schools and anganwadi centres in Jajpur will stay closed till June 24 and in Bhadrak till June 21 because of a Diarrhoea outbreak.
District administrations of Jajpur and Bhadrak have issued notices. Earlier, schools across Odisha (except in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack) were set to reopen on June 20 after summer holidays. School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond said that district collectors of affected areas are Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Cuttack have been given the strength to determine whether to reopen faculties based on local conditions.
Odisha Authorities Controls on Diarrhoea outbreak
He said the authorities is concerned about the diarrhoea cases and has told officials to examine the scenario before restarting classes. So far, 13 people have died in Jajpur, and nearly 196 patients treated in hospitals. The most current deaths have been reported in Vyasanagar.
To keep students safe, the government has ordered colleges without water filters to provide boiled water to students. Mid-day meal employees have to serve freshly cooked hot food. The equal policies will be reported in hostel faculties.
Fast food stalls in institutes closed
Before colleges reopen, campuses and water tanks should be wiped clean. Also, fast food stalls close to schools will stay closed to avoid any health risks. On Thursday, joint teams from the state and country governments visited Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Cuttack. These experts are testing Diarrhoea outbreak cases and see how the diarrhoea control steps are being taken in the affected areas.
