In a case of suspected medical negligence and malpractice, Ambedkar Nagar police have arrested two unqualified men for performing a Botched C-Section at an illegal private hospital. This procedure led to the death of a 28-year-old woman.
2 arrested for killing mother with Botched C-Section
The accused are Yogesh Verma (32), an arts graduate from Malipur, and Shubham Vishwakarma (19), a Class 12 student from Sultanpur. They arrested for allegedly conducting surgeries at Navjeevan Hospital in the Baskhari area without any recognized medical degree or surgical qualification.
According to police, Priyanka, the wife of Sandeep Kumar Verma admitted to the hospital on February 5 for childbirth. The two men allegedly performed a C-section, after which she gave birth to a baby girl.
Women experience High bleeding, feel unconscious after operation
Soon after the Botched C-Section, Priyanka experienced excessive bleeding and did not regain consciousness after the anesthesia. As her condition worsened, she referred to a hospital in Akbarpur and then to Lucknow, but died on the way, officials reported.
Her death has led to protests by her family members. The hospital operator, named Ruby, fled and has been missing. Police said that they have seized mobile phones and other materials related to the case. They are working to locate her.
