The deceased identified as Javed, who lived in Purnia, Bihar. His belongings—a backpack, mobile phone, and clothes found nearby. There were no visible injury marks on his body, according to a police officer.

The officer noted that CCTV footage showed Senior Section Engineer (Electrical) Guru Pratap parking his car around 10:49 AM that day and then heading to his office without locking the vehicle.

Died due to asphyxiation

Around 11:22 AM, Javed, who worked as a mason and was at the station to travel to Bihar, entered the car and sat in the backseat. The officer explained that around 1:50 PM, a member of the engineer’s staff came to collect a lunchbox from the car and accidentally locked it, not realizing Javed was inside. Footage recorded Javed moving around restlessly between 1:54 PM and 3:13 PM, seemingly trying to open the doors.

When Guru Pratap returned to his car at around 5:34 PM, he found Bihar Man unresponsive in the backseat and notified the authorities. Police said that a post-mortem at GTB Hospital indicated death due to asphyxiation, and the investigation is ongoing.
