Recently, the three-storey building collapsed in Northeast Delhi and 2 people dead. 8 peoples had been pulled out from under the debris, officers said. The incident occurs at 7 am from Delhi’s Welcome area. The cause of the Delhi Building Collapse is yet to be ascertained. Those rescued from the site include a 14-month-old boy Ahmad, 4 boys and 3 girls. While adults have been sent to the JPC Hospital, the boy is admitted at the GTB Hospital.
Delhi Building Collapse incident occurs at 7 AM today
According to locals, a family of 10 lived in the building. “We received a call regarding a collapse incident at 7 am. Multiple groups are working, such as 7 fire tenders. Further information is awaited,” a senior police officer said. Locals seen supporting clear the debris and rescue peoples, as per the video shared.
“Around 7 am, I was in my house when I heard a loud noise and there has been dust throughout. When I came down, I noticed that our neighbour’s home has collapsed,” Asma said.
Rescue teams arrived on collapse site
“We do not know what number of people are trapped but a family of 10 people lives there and 3 had been rescued,” she said. Several locals have been out on their morning walks when the building collapsed. The morning walkers acted as first responders and tried to rescue peoples before fire officials arrived at the location.
In a statement, Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg said a building collapsed in Gali No. 5 at Janta Colony close to Idgah road in Seelampur. Earlier in April, as a minimum 4 peoples were killed and 13 others rescued after a 4-storey Delhi Building Collapse. An official defined it as a “pancake disintegrate”, in which, he said, the chances of survival are “minimum”.
