The Indian Air Force (IAF) will celebrate its 93rd Air Force Day on Wednesday, October 8. Joining the IAF is a dream for many Indians, but the selection process is quite tough, and very few succeed. The IAF has different selection steps for Airmen/Agniveer Vayu and for officers.
The selection process for IAF Agniveer Vayu includes a written test, a physical fitness test, a medical test, and an adaptability test. Officer candidates need to pass the AFCAT.
Air Force Day, Aspire to become Fighter pilot in IAF
Candidates who wish to join the IAF as Airmen, Agniveer Vayu must pass an online written exam, a Physical Efficiency Test, an Adaptability test, a medical exam, and merit-based selection.
The Agniveer Vayu online test will be in English and Hindi. The questions come from the CBSE 10+2 syllabus, covering subjects like Physics, Maths, English, Reasoning, and General Awareness.
Physical Fitness Test
Candidates who pass the online test must take the Physical Fitness and measurement test. In the Physical Fitness test, candidates must perform activities such as a 1.6 km run, push-ups, and sit-ups. After the Physical measurement test, they must pass the medical test. Those who pass all rounds of the online test, Physical Fitness Test, and medical examination will be selected for the Airmen, Agniveer Vayu position.
