The incident happened in Penumada village and was caught on camera, where the man collapsed immediately after handing over a gift to the newly-wed couple.

The man identified as Vamsi was an employee working at Amazon in Bengaluru. He was apparently at Kurnool to attend his friend’s wedding. Guests near him acted in time, catching him before he tumbled to the ground.

Amazon employee had already died from cardiac arrest before reaching hospital

With prompt attention, he was taken to Dhone City Government Hospital, and the doctors confirmed that he had already died.

A spate of sudden cardiac arrests among the youth in the most unexpected settings has people worried, especially at weddings or gyms. Lifestyle factors, according to experts, have become a growing cause of concern.

Dr Ravi Gupta, Consultant Cardiologist at Wockhardt Hospitals in Mumbai, observed that genetic predisposition for unhealthy habits and modern stressors have led to an increase in risk in Indians’ heart diseases. Those factors include diabetes, sedentary behavior, air pollution, heavy workouts, and steroid use.

Heart problems occur very suddenly and doctors are appealing for awareness, especially among younger people who may not recognize the danger signs before it is too late. An ounce of prevention, health checks, and lifestyle changes would be needed to try and prevent such instances as much as possible.

This tragedy highlighted the need to focus on heart health even in young populations.
